Map

October 2002. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of two possible rectilinear enclosures and associated linears and anomalies, visible on 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1). The clearest feature is a rectangular enclosure at TG 0539 4279, measuring 11m by 7.5m. The cropmarks of the ditch are extremely broad in relation to the size of the site, measuring up to 2.5m across. It is possible that this feature relates to a small rectangular structure. To the immediate east of this is a pit-like anomaly of irregular shape at TG 0540 4278, measuring approximately 4.6m by 3.5m. A second possible rectilinear enclosure is perhaps visible at TG 0538 4280, measuring 12.5m by 8m. The cropmarks of the ditch are not as clear as the first enclosure and are also much narrower, being 1.5m across. A linear feature, 13.5m long, runs from the south-west corner of this feature from TG 0538 4279 to TG 0538 4278. The date and origin of these features is uncertain.
S. Massey (NMP), 13 April 2003.
