Map

July 2004. Norfolk NMP.
An incomplete cropmark of an undated rectangular feature is visible on aerial photographs (S1). The cropmark is located TG 3581 3237. The rectangle is aligned roughly north to south and measures at least 9m long by 6m wide. It is possible that this negative cropmark could represent either a ditch or wall. Consequently it could relate to a small rectangular building, structure or possibly a small enclosure. It appears to be located adjacent, but at a slight angle, to a field boundary marked on the 1840 Walcott tithe and 2nd edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey maps ((S2) to (S3)). No buildings or structures are marked at this location on these maps, suggesting a post-medieval or earlier date for this feature. A sub-rectangular pond is shown 30m to the southwest of the location of the cropmark on the tithe map (S2).
J. Albone (NMP), 15 July 2004.
