Map

August 2004. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of undated, possibly Iron Age to Roman and post medieval, field boundary ditches are visible on aerial photographs ((S1) to (S3)). These cropmarks were previously recorded as part of NHER 21773 and are centred on TG 3772 2995. A group of north to south and west to east aligned field boundary ditch cropmarks is centred on TG 3775 3003 with some elements continuing further to the south. Although the arrangement of these boundaries corresponds to the modern field pattern, suggesting some are probably post medieval in date, there appears to be elements of more than one field system present. Consequently, some of these ditches may relate to a Iron Age to Roman field systems such as those recorded to the west (NHER 38730) and east (NHER 36765). Some of the west to east ditches within this group cut across cropmarks of probable Bronze Age round barrows (NHER 38731 and 38735). Two parallel west to east aligned ditches at TG 3767 3001 may represent a trackway. Ditches in the southern part of the group cross possible medieval to post medieval field boundaries (NHER 38740).
