Map

August 2004. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of undated, possibly Iron Age to Roman and medieval to post medieval, ditches, field boundaries and trackways are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3840 2973. Two parallel ditch cropmarks extend for 39m on a north to south alignment between TG 3836 981 and TG 3836 2977. They are spaced 3m apart and could reresent a trackway or double ditched field boundary. A west to east aligned ditch at their southern end may be related. It is possible that these features represent a trackway or field boundaries of Iron Age to Roman date (see NHER 38744). A second possible trackway, which could be contemporary, extends for 75m between TG 3847 2972 and TG 3850 2966 with a turn towards the southeast at its southern end. Other ditch cropmarks are aligned roughly southwest to northeast and include two parallel ditches of a further possible trackway at TG 3836 2978. The date of these cropmarks is uncertain. Artefacts of Roman to post medieval date have been recovered from the aera of these cropmarks (NHER 34337).
