Map

August 2004. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of a possible medieval to post medieval ditch-defined road or trackway and other parallel ditches are visible on aerial photographs ((S1) to (S2)). These cropmarks are centred around TG 3607 3079. A negative cropmark of the metalled or compacted surface of a road or trackway extends for 164m on a north to south alignment between TG 3606 3084 and TG 3609 3069. Flanking this cropmark are intermittent single ditches which mark the width of the road. Although undated, this road lies roughly parallel to the modern road 50m to its east, suggesting that it may be of medieval to post medieval date. Two ditches on a similar north to south alignment are present between the cropmark road and the modern road. It is possible that these are field boundaries of a similar date. However, it is also possible that some of the cropmarks in this group are of agricultural origin.
