Full Description
August 2004. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of undated field boundary ditches are visible on aerial photographs (S1 to S2). These cropmarks are centred around TG 3608 3034. A northeast to southwest aligned ditch extends intermittently for 240m between TG 3614 3045 and TG 3604 3023 before turning southeast for a further 35m. Three ditches are aligned perpendicular to the main ditch towards its northeastern end. Two of these are attached to the main ditch. An L-shaped ditch at TG 3608 3032 is also aligned parallel and perpendicular to the line of the main ditch. It is likely that all of these ditches represent field boundaries, although their date is uncertain. They do not match the modern field pattern, but could be of an early post medieval or earlier date.
J. Albone (NMP), 31 August 2004.
