Map

September 2004. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of an undated, possibly Roman or medieval, trackway, field boundaries and other ditches are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred around TG 3602 3068. Intermittent cropmarks of a ditch-defined trackway are present on a southwest to northeast alignment between TG 3597 3059 and TG 3613 3074. At the southwest end of the cropmarks a third ditch is present running parallel to the trackway. Ditches of possible field boundaries are aligned perpendicular to the line of the trackway in the southwestern part of the cropmarks. Some of these are probably contemporary with the trackway, although one appears to overlap it at TG 3600 3061. Two ditches appear to approach the trackway diagonally at its northeast end. It is not clear whether these are contemporary with the trackway. The line of the trackway appears to continue that of a trackway and field system 440m to the southwest (NHER 21775). It is likely that these cropmarks are of a similar, Roman or medieval, date.
