Summary

An undated square cropmark is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1977. It was suggested that this may represent a building or structure of Roman, medieval or post medieval date but archaeological work undertaken between 2017 and 2021 revealed no evidence for associated sub-surface remains.

A cropmark of a possible undated square structure or building is visible on aerial photographs (S1). The negative cropmark measures 6m by 6.5m and is located at TG 3899 3028. A short linear cropmark extends from the northwest corner possibly representing a further wall. It is possible that this cropmark represents a building or structure of Roman, medieval or post medieval date.

Magnetometer survey of site on proposed route of onshore cable for Norfolk Vanguard and Boreas Offshore Wind Farms.
No anomalies that could potentially relate to this cropmark were identified.

Evaluation of site on proposed route of onshore cable for Norfolk Vanguard and Boreas Offshore Wind Farms.
A trench excavated at this location also failed to identified any evidence for sub-surface remains associated with this cropmark.
