World War Two barbed wire and possible weapons pits are visible on 1943 and 1946 aerial photographs ((S1) to (S2)). These defences are centred around TG 3925 3010. Two parallel lines of barbed wire are present between TG 3928 3024 and TG 3915 3033 on 1943 aerial photographs (S1). At the northwest end, the northernmost line turns and continues roughly northwards for a further 70m. This barbed wire had been removed by July 1946 (S2). At that time a second line of barbed wire was present along the sea front between TG 3929 3031 and TG 3938 3026. Possible weapons pits are also visible on the 1946 aerial photographs. Three small sub-circular pits are located in a line at TG 3925 3031 with a fourth pit at TG 3935 3023.
