Summary

Metal detecting in 2004 recovered a single sherd of unglazed medieval pottery along with part of a copper alloy purse frame. The purse frame dates to either the late medieval or early post medieval period and featured deeply engraved chevron decoration.

Medieval body sherd of sandy unglazed pottery, reduced with oxidised exterior, 12th-13th century (1g).
Late medieval/early post medieval: part of a copper alloy pendent frame of a purse, C-section, three attachment holes, deeply engraved chevrons and saltires inlaid with niello. At complete end a spike, for attachment to the bar, projects at right angles. LMMC type. Late 15th - early 16th century.
