Map

September 2004. Visit.
At approximately TF 968 347 a small tributary of the River Stiffkey, southeast of Vine Park Farm showed a brick lining to the floor of the stream for some 40m, the stream max 1m wide at this point. Some half way along this length two slabs of stone 0.5m wide projected opposite each other, the major part of the stones being buried in the bank. It was impossible to see the floor in detail due to fast-flowing and muddy water. Owner assured me of the nature and length of the feature.
Brick shown to A. Rogerson (NLA), who identified it as post-medieval.
H. Paterson (A&E), 25 October 2004.
