Summary

Metal-detecting here in 2004 and 2023 recovered Early Neolithic flint scrapers; medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons; post-medieval tokens and a range of other, Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Roman folding razor handle and steelyard weight; a medieval casket key, copper alloy seal matrix and lead papal bulla of Urban VI; medieval/post-medieval thimbles and an ewer handle and post-medieval coin weights, harness mounts, a buckle, sword-belt fitting, purse bar, copper alloy vessel fragment, lead weights and lead cloth seal.

Full Description

August-September 2004. Metal-detecting.
1 Roman folding razor handle and 1 hollow-cast steelyard weight.
3 medieval coins and 1 jetton.
2 medieval/post-medieval thimbles and 1 ewer handle.
3 post-medieval coins, 1 jetton, 2 coin weights, 1 purse bar, 1 vessel rim fragment (high lead content), 2 lead weights (1/2oz), 1 harness mount and 1 tinned buckle frame.
