Summary
Annual ploughing in a field where a cottage is said to have stood has turned up 19th century pottery fragments. Amongst these was the neck of a salt glazed jar, which it has been suggested was part of a witch bottle. These were placed in houses to ward off evil spirits.

1980. Approximate grid reference only.
Found in field where cottage said to have stood, and where scatter of 19th century sherds ploughed up each year.
Neck of saltglazed jar "similar to a bellarmine."
Suggested by Cromer Museum to be part of a witch bottle buried under the cottage.
