NHER 40953 (Building record) - Peddars, Granville Cottage and Old Chapel, Coast Road

This group of houses belongs to different dates. Granville Cottage is in two sections, probably dating to the early and late 17th century. Each section is a gable stack house, but they have been much altered in the 19th and 20th century. The attached Peddars is a mid 18th century house which was altered in the 19th century and contains large quantities of reused Roman stone, probably from Branodunum fort (NHER 1001). The Old Chapel, thought to be a 19th century chapel, is now a house. It also contains reused Roman stone.
