Summary

Metal-detecting between 2004 and 2023 recovered a notable quantity of Roman pottery, suggesting this was potentially the site of a small Roman settlement. Other finds recovered include Iron Age, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; a possible Roman tile fragment; a fragment of lava quern; a piece of post-medieval vessel glass; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins and a number of other, medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a medieval buckle and strap end; a medieval/post-medieval mount and copper alloy vessel fragment and a post-medieval buckle.
