Map

December 2004. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of an undated rectilinear field system are visible on aerial photographs (S1-2). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3303 3486. Two incomplete fields defined by intermittent narrow ditches are present on a roughly southwest to northeast alignment (S1). The northeastern of the two fields is the most complete, with its northeast end represented by only a short section of ditch. The external dimensions of this field are 66m by 141m, with the second field measuring 64m by a possible 132m. Two other ditches are also visible as soilmarks on a roughly northwest to southeast alignment between TG 3306 3471 and TG 3304 3478 (S2). It is possible that they represent a continuation of the ditch that divides the two fields further to the north. This field system does not correspond to the post medieval field pattern and is undated. These field system cropmarks are now located beneath the Bacton Gas Terminal.
