Summary

A small circular embankment is visible as an earthwork in 1946 in the Swacking Cuckoo plantation, Cromer. This feature is likely to be post medieval in date and may have formed a platform of some sort, possibly relating to the storage and collection of woodland material.

A small circular embankment is visible as an earthwork in 1946 in the Swacking Cuckoo plantation, Cromer (S1). This feature is likely to be post medieval in date. The site consists of a penannular bank centred on TG 2065 4094 and measuring 9.5m in diameter. Slight traces of an outer ditch are visible to the west. The purpose of this feature is not known although it may have formed a platform of some sort, possibly relating to the storage and collection of woodland material.
