Full Description
December 2004. Norfolk NMP.
A group of linear ditches and banks are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-2), centred at TG 3178 3619. Several of the features are likely to be post-medieval field boundaries, as they fit the pattern of enclosure depicted on historic Ordnance Survey maps (e.g. S3). The others remain undated but could be associated with the medieval to post-medieval field system (NHER 39160) 200m to the south. Some of the mapped features, such as the double V-shaped ditches visible at TG 3177 3600, may be the product of modern agricultural activity rather than the presence of archaeological features.
