Summary

The site of a former gas works is depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition map to the east of the Mill Road, Cromer. One of the remaining gasometers or gas holders is still visible on aerial photographs in 1946.

The site of a former gas works is depicted on the Ordnance Survey First edition map (1879-1886, 6") to the east of the Mill Road, Cromer (S1). The site is centred on TG 2245 4123. One of the remaining gasometers or gas holders is still visible at TG 2242 4124 on aerial photographs in 1946 (S2). This structure was not mapped on the NMP map as the feature is depicted on both the First edition Ordnance Survey map (S1) and also the second edition map (1902-7, 25") (S3).
