Summary

Metal-detecting in 2000 and 2012 recovered Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval to post-medieval tokens and Roman to medieval/post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include Roman pins and a bow brooch; an Early Saxon brooch; Middle Saxon pins; a Late Saxon unidentified object; a medieval brooch and medieval/post-medieval strap fittings. Fieldwalking in 2003 identified a significant concentration of what were believed to be Late Saxon and/or early medieval pottery sherds. Other material recovered included potentially prehistoric burnt flints, prehistoric worked flints and what were identified by the finder as Iron Age and medieval pottery sherds.
