Map

January 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of undated, and possible medieval to post medieval, field boundary ditches are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TG 3259 3294. Four ditches are present on northwest to southeast and southwest to northeast alignments. These appear to represent the boundaries of small fields aligned parallel to the section of road to their southeast. Three ditches at TG 3263 3304 appear to partly define one or more small fields or enclosures. Only one of these is partly defined and measures 30m by at least 34m. A further small enclosure, measuring 80m by 29m, is present at TG 3259 3289 adjacent to the road. This is defined on its northwest side by a slightly sinuous ditch. Crossing this enclosure is a west to east aligned ditch that continues the line of the road to its west. The date of this ditch is unknown. The enclosures aligned parallel to the road do not form part of the surviving post medieval field pattern, but may be of an earlier medieval to post medieval date. Other post medieval field boundaries visible as cropmarks in this are were not mapped.
