Summary

A World War Two pillbox is visible on aerial photographs, alongside a track through the Marram Hills dunes at Waxham Sands. This structure appears to be a type 22 pillbox. A further possible type 22 pillbox is located on the seaward side (NHER 27246) which was surrounded by barbed wire. A third pillbox and section of barbed wire was located on the landward side of the dunes (NHER 27247). Further possible World War Two structures and earthworks may have been located behind the dunes to the east (NHER 27250 and 27251).

A World War Two pillbox is visible on aerial photographs, alongside a trackway through the Marram Hills dunes at Waxham Sands (S1 to 3). This structure is located at TG 4542 2527 appears to be a type 22 pillbox. A further possible type 22 pillbox is located on the seaward side (NHER 27246) which was surrounded by barbed wire. A third pillbox and possible section of barbed wire defence was also located on the landward side of the dunes (NHER 27247). Further possible World War Two structures and earthworks may have been located behind the dunes to the east (NHER 27250 and 27251), although these structures are less certain.
