Full Description
Disused chapel, said to have been a Methodist church.
Red brick with yellow white brick detail. Façade had two tall round arched lancets, their arches formed of groups of three red and three white bricks repeated five times, and jambs of white bricks. Recent vehicle door has removed base of right hand window but its left hand jamb is the pulvinated jamb of the original central doorway. Above windows is central two light window with stone Y tracery decorated with leaf motif at top of red and white mullion or trumeau. In gable is blank oculus outlined in softeer red bricks, Two string course of white brick cross the gable, and a third at the base of the main windows. Plinth at base. The side walls have three tall round-arched lancets, their bases and tops sonnected by courses of white bricks, which also form the cornice; no plinth on these walls. North gable also has oculus, and rises above a low projection not of full width which has two blocked openings to west and a later north wall. All bricks have horizontal skintlings. Roof of slate with asbestos gutters. Interior not seen but used as industrial storage.
Building shown on (S1) but not on (S2); probably dates to about 1860. Brickwork is of high quality.

No Archaeological work was carried out on this site as the Case Officer reported that the majority of the Chapel had already been demolished.
