Map

March 2005. Norfolk NMP.
A bank and ditch are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-2), centred at TG 4921 1565. They may define the north-eastern corner of a polygonal enclosure with internal bank, or represent a large, infilled drain. No dating evidence has been recovered from the site, nor is it morphologically distinctive. The relatively well-defined cropmarks, however, would suggest that the site is of relatively recent origin and probably dates to the post-medieval period. The features are not depicted on late 19th-century maps of the area (e.g. S3), having presumably been levelled by this time.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 16 March 2005.
