Summary

A possible World War Two defensive structure may be visible on aerial photographs set into the end of the sea wall, above the steps down to the beach at Eccles-on-Sea. It is possible that this is an anti-tank cube, which may have originally blocking the steps. Although this identification is not definite and the feature may not be military in origin, although there is a line of World War Two defences along this strip of coast, many of which were incorporated into the sea wall.

A possible World War Two defensive structure may be visible on aerial photographs set into the end of the sea wall, above the steps down to the beach at Eccles-on-Sea. The site is centred on TG 4051 2945. It is possible that it is an anti-tank cube, as it is square and approximately 1m across. It may have originally blocked the steps to the beach. Although this identification is not definite and the feature may not be military in origin, as it cannot be clearly identified either on any earlier aerial photographs. Although it may have been exposed during the 1953 storm event.
