Summary

Four circular timber posts were found embedded in the eastern bank of the Wells harbour channel in 2004, probably a jetty, quay or trackway.

Inter-tidal survey (Environmental Zone 10), Context 870:
Four circular timber posts were found embedded in the eastern bank of the Wells harbour channel.
A sherd of pottery dating from 1550 to 1700 was collected and may give a date for the structure. It was probably a jetty, quay or trackway.
