Summary

Eleven triangular landing stages composed of upright posts and horizontal planks were found during the field survey stage of the Norfolk Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey. These are almost certainly modern in date, and probably equate to the intact structures visible on 20th century aerial photographs and perhaps also to the dolphins (i.e. mooring posts or bollards) depicted on modern 1 to 2500 Ordnance Survey maps.

J. Allen (NLA), 27 April 2005. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 21 July 2019.

May 2006. Norfolk NMP.
The landing stages described above probably equate to the relatively intact structures visible on aerial photographs, including some taken in 1965 (S2). They may also be the same as the dolphins (mooring posts or bollards) depicted on modern Ordnance Survey 1 to 2500 maps. As they appear to be modern in date, they have not been mapped by the NMP.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 16 May 2006.
