Summary

An archaeological evaluation at this site before development revealed a large medieval boundary ditch and some medieval pits. A very large, possible post medieval quarry pit and a row of three large post medieval post holes were also excavated. Rubbish had been dumped here in the early 20th century activity.

Evaluation of proposed development site. Contexts 1-43.
Revealed a large boundary ditch and some pits of medieval date. A small number of other pits, post holes and a small ditch may also have dated to the same period. A very large, possible, quarry pit and a row of three large post holes were probably of late post medieval date. Early 20th century activity at the site was represented by a number of dumps of rubbish.
