A tank, providing a static emergency water supply, is visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs (S1), (S2) and (S3), centred at TG 5242 0771. It dates to World War Two, when several tanks of this type were constructed in Great Yarmouth (and elsewhere) to provide water for fire fighting after bombing raids. It consists of an upstanding circular tank measuring approximately 11.5m in diameter. It was removed by 26th August 1945 (S3), and the area is now part of the market place and car park, perhaps partially overlain by the covered market.
