Summary

This is the crash site of a Bristol Blenheim, which crashed here in June 1942. The site is now a memorial to the three young airmen who died in the accident.

9 June 1942. Crash site of Bristol Blenheim, in village pond.
Crashed when attempting to turn back to West Raynham with engine trouble.
The three members of the crew were all killed.
Pilot Officer John Graham, aged 21, is buried in St Mary's churchyard, East Raynham.
Sergeant Michael Beaufoy, aged 19, who left his collection of swing records to the RAF mess at West Raynham.
Sergeant Leslie Harrowell, aged 22.
Memorial placed on site in 2000; area now cleared as a memorial.
This particular Bristol Blenheim, and her crew, took part in Operation Millenium, the first RAF 'thousand bomber raid' on Cologne.
