Summary

A static emergency water supply tank, dating to World War Two, is visible as an extant structure on wartime aerial photographs. It is one of several such tanks positioned around the town for use by fire fighters after bombing raids. It is first visible on photographs taken in March 1944, and had been removed by August 1945.

A World War Two emergency water supply tank is visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs (S1 to 3), centred at TG 5272 0772. It consists of an above ground circular tank, and is one of several to have been erected at various locations around the town. It was removed by August 1945, although its base is still visible on photographs of this date (S3).
