Summary

Three World War Two anti tank cubes are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1944. They block access under a former railway bridge and were presumably intended to impede the progress of an invading force. A similar barrier is visible at another railway bridge to the southwest (NHER 27413). The blocks were removed by August 1945.

Full Description

July 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Three World War Two anti tank cubes are visible on aerial photographs (S1) and (S2), centred at TG 5216 0868. They block a track under a former railway bridge and were presumably intended to impede a tank and other vehicles in the event of an invasion. They were removed by August 1945 when the scars left by their removal were still visible (S3).
