1974. Stray Find.
Ploughed out at approximately [1]:
1 prehistoric saddle quern.
This information is taken from a map drawn by [2] indicating the locations of various discoveries made on the Field House estate [3]. See also correspondence in file.

2002-2003. Metal-detecting.
1 Mesolithic retouched flint blade.
1 undatable prehistoric retouched flint flake and 2 unmodified flakes.
1 Late Bronze Age copper alloy socketed axe (cutting edge fragment). Drawn (S1).
2 Iron Age pottery sherds.
8 Roman coins and 1 pottery sherd (greyware).
1 ?Early Saxon pottery sherd.
1 medieval belt mount.
1 ?medieval lead spindle whorl.
1 medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragment.
1 post-medieval coin, 1 belt mount, 1 crotal bell and 1 pair of dividers.

February-March 2006. Watching Brief and Metal-detecting Survey.
Monitoring and metal-detecting undertaken during topsoil stripping and trenching for Binham to Houghton St Giles water pipeline (Collection Units 1-11).
Finds recovered from this area included prehistoric worked flints, burnt flint, a Roman ?decorative mount and an undated copper alloy strap fitting.
No archaeologically significant features or deposits were observed.

The associated archive has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2016.116).
