Map

August 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Two World War Two bomb craters are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (S1 and S2), centred at TG 5097 0896. The similar size and close proximity of the two craters suggests that they were both dropped by a single plane in the same raid. The intended target may have been the railway line (NHER 13571) 55m to the south. More recent aerial photographs (for example. (S3)) indicate that the craters have since been levelled.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 31 August 2005.
