Full Description
September 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of undated linear ditches and banks are visible on aerial photographs (S1). These cropmarks are centred on TG 5081 1418. A total of 30 short sections of ditch and one bank are visible as cropmarks in this group. The majority of the ditches are aligned roughly northwest to southeast. This alignment is similar to a group of rectilinear enclosures of possible Roman date located 240m to the north. Although some ditches are aligned perpendicular to the main axis, no coherent enclosures are visible within this group of cropmarks. A west to east ditch appears to cross the cropmark of a Bronze Age ring ditch and is cut by a modern field boundary at TG 5081 1419. This group of linear ditches is of unknown date, although it is possible that some of all of them are Roman.
