Map

Isolated building immediately east of church. House originally of courtyard form, of brick and glazed pantiles, fairly large. Original front doorcase remains in Greek Revival style but remainder much changed when in use as County Council farm, and later by recent additions. [1] stated he had found reused timbers in house foundations.
Barn at rear is long, lf brick, inner face in English bond, outer face in Old English garden Wall bond. Cart doors, slit windows and honeycomb vent. Roof of kingpost and strut, ties supported on west wall by large knees possibly reused. Barn dated to about 1820, roof perhaps later. South end was originally a separate barn; partition wall, former north external wall, retains external plinth, moulded gable springers and blocked window, but probably not more than 40 years between the two.
(S1) shows group of three small buildings here, one of which could be the smaller barn built dated to about 1780; the barn extension and the house dated to about 1820.
E. Rose (NLA), 14 June 2005.
