Summary

A possible World War Two pillbox is visible on 1965 aerial photographs, partially buried on Waxham beach. The structure is not visible on earlier wartime aerial photographs and this could indicate that it was either camouflaged or largely subsurface.

A possible World War Two pillbox is visible on aerial photographs, partially buried on the beach at Waxham in 1965 (S1). The pillbox is centred on TG 4445 2621 and only a small fragment, measuring 2.5m by 1.5m, is visible. This structure is not visible on earlier wartime aerial photographs, this could indicate that it was either camouflaged or largely subsurface.
