Map

September 2005. Norfolk NMP.
A possible World War Two defensive structure is visible on aerial photographs and situated on the road leading to Waxham Great Hall and Barn, Sea Palling (S1). At TG 4392 2639 is a small, possibly concrete, square structure, measuring 2.5m across. The function of this not known; it is may have been performing a roadblock function, although it is too large for an anti tank block. It could perhaps be a small gun emplacement. To the west of this an additional two structures of unusual shape were noted, but not mapped, as it was not clear from the aerial photographs whether they were static features or defences. These features did not have the defined shadow and edges of the other structure and may well be marking caused by some recent activity.
S. Massey (NMP), 29 September 2005.
