Full Description
September 2005. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a post medieval field system are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Waxham Hall (S1 to S3). The site is centred on TG 4427 2605. The main ditches visible are aligned roughly with Church Road and the hall complex to the west and existing track to the west. The boundaries are consistent with that recorded on the 1840 Waxham Tithe map (S4). The aerial photographs reveal further subdivisions and fields, indicating an earlier and more complicated layout.
S. Massey (NMP), 30 September 2005.
