Summary

The post medieval icehouse that stands here is an unusual example of this kind of structure. This particular one is not buried and comprises a short brick passage that leads to a large circular roofless chamber with a small window. Perhaps it should be considered more of a larder than an icehouse.

Map

Ice-house. Unusual - not buried; short brick passage with iron hinges on exterior doorway leads to large circular flint and brick structure, now roofless, with small window in far side! Probably more of a larder than an ice-house - conveniently near to lake.
