Full Description
October 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of an undated trackway are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). These cropmarks are centred on TG 4877 1365. Two parallel ditch cropmarks are present on an intermittent roughly west to east alignment. They extend for up to 730m between TG 4838 1361 to TG 4910 1373. The ditches are spaced between 13m and 20m apart and it is likely that they define a trackway. The trackway passes adjacent to a ring ditch of a probable Bronze Age round barrow (NHER 18342) and cuts across field boundary ditches of a possible similar date (NHER 12997). The eastern end of the trackway appears to curve and align with the Filby and Ormesby St Margaret parish boundary. However, this trackway does not obviously relate to any of the cropmarks immediately surrounding it and is of unknown date.
