Full Description
May 2003. Norfolk NMP.
Group of linear cropmarks visible on NLA oblique aerial photographs from 1989 (S1). The majority of the cropmarks were quite indistinct and appeared on the whole to be geological in origin. However many were linear and parallel in places, so it must be borne in mind that they are archaeological. Two individual linear elements were picked out as being more distinct and likely to be ditches. These include a linear ditch running from TG 1227 4111 to TG 1229 42115, measuring 37m long and approximately 1m across. This feature may bear some relation to the Neolithic mortuary enclosure to the immediate south (NHER 22883). Another fragmentary linear is visible to the south of the main area of cropmarks, running from TG 1209 4097 to TG 1236 4093. In total these sections of possible ditch are 277m long. The date and archaeological origin of these linears is unknown.
S. Massey (NMP), 30 May 2003.
