Map

June 2003. Norfolk NMP.
Earthwork ditch visible on 1946 RAF aerial photographs (S1). The ditch is quite sinuous and runs from TG 1448 4238 to TG 1448 4235, measuring approximately 31m long and 1m to 1.5m wide. The linear terminates to the north in a bulbous pit like feature, 5m by 4m. The date of this feature is unknown.
S. Massey (NMP), 20 June 2003.

December 2014. Watching Brief. Field 4.
Three burnt features were observed immediately to the west of this ditch during monitoring of installation of a pipeline.
The features have been interpreted as possible pits or remnants of a large palaeochannel and the fill may incorporate remains of a burnt mound. The relationship between these features and the earthwork ditch noted above remains uncertain.
See NHER 61026 for further details about these features.
H. Hamilton (HES), 30 June 2015.
