Summary

Cropmarks of a linear ditch, probably a post medieval field boundary, are visible on aerial photographs. This ditch lies perpendicular to the modern field boundaries and appears to continue the line of a post medieval field boundary marked on a late 19th century Ordnance Survey map further to the east.

Map

October 2005. Norfolk NMP.
Cropmarks of a linear ditch, probably post medieval field boundary, are visible on aerial photographs (S1) and (S2). These cropmarks are centred on TG 4919 1328. An intermittent linear ditch is visible as a cropmark for 370m on a west to east alignment between TG 4900 1328 and TG 4937 1326. This ditch lies perpendicular to the modern field boundaries and appears to continue the line of a post medieval field boundary marked on the first edition 6" to the mile Ordnance Survey map (S3) further to the east. It is likely that the cropmark relates to an early post medieval field boundary that had been removed by the early 20th century.
