Map

November 2003. Norfolk NMP.
A zigzag section of earthwork bank is visible on RAF aerial photographs from 1946 (S1) and 1950 (S2). The exact date and function of this bank is uncertain, although the zigzag nature of its construction would suggest that it is World War Two in origin and is associated with the many training activities that took place on the Hill during the war. The bank runs from TG 1001 4308 to TG 1008 4306 and is around 77m long and varies in width from 3-4m. No associated ditch is visible.
S. Massey (NMP), 17 November 2003.
