Map

November 2003. Norfolk NMP.
A roughly square hollow is visible on top of Muckleburgh Hill on RAF aerial photographs from 1946 (S1) and 1950 (S2). The earthworks appear to be quite fresh and therefore it is possible that the feature relates to the World War Two activity on the Hill. Although it is also possible that it is an earlier feature. The hollow is located at TG 1001 4294 and measures approximately 2.5m square. This hollow appears to be surrounded on three sides by a thin bank (left open to the northeast). This is likely to be created from the up-cast of the excavation.
S. Massey (NMP), 17 November 2003.
