Map

January 2004. Norfolk NMP.
A network of possible World War One - Two slit trench on Kelling Heath, visible on RAF aerial photographs from 1946 (S1). The feature consists of a trench running from TG 1070 4173 to TG 1074 4169. This has an adjoined circle of zigzag trench, centred on TG 1073 4169. It is possible that these trenches are World War Two in date, although they look quite faint by the time of the 1946 photographs, so they are possibly part of the World War One trench systems on the heath, such as NHER 38418.
S. Massey (NMP), 12 January 2004.
