Summary

Metal-detecting between 2005 and 2017 recovered undated copper alloy casting waste; Late Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons; medieval and post-medieval tokens and a range of other Middle Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Middle Bronze Age spearhead; a Late Iron Age/Early Roman brooch; Roman brooch fragments, a buckle and belt or harness mount; Early Saxon brooches; a Late Saxon/medieval mount; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories (including a post-medieval silver button); medieval harness pendants, spurs, a horse-harness suspension mount, possible sword-belt fitting, pendent loop from purse frame, thimble, needle, monumental brass fragment, lead weights, lead secular ‘badge’ and lead pot mend; a medieval/post-medieval attachment loop for drop handle from vessel or furniture, copper alloy vessel fragments, a lead spindle whorl or lead and lead weight; a post-medieval book clasp, thimble, belt or harness mount, rowel spur, furniture fitting, lead cloth seals, lead weight and white metal bell and a potentially post-medieval pewter vessel fragment.
