Full Description
September 2005. Norfolk NMP.
The possible earthworks of a small ring ditch have tentatively been identified on Great Moss Fen, Sea Palling (S1). The archaeological origin of this feature is not definite, although it is possible that it is a drainage feature, possibly a stack stand. The site is centred on TG 4258 2571 and the ditch is 8.5m in diameter. Other ring ditches, interpreted as possible stack stands have been mapped in the area, see NHER 27711 and 42071. The size range of this ring ditch falls well within the general range of other circular features identified as possible stack stands from aerial photographs (S2, page 553 to 4).
