Full Description
November 2005. Norfolk NMP.
An earthwork of a possible medieval saltern mound is visible on aerial photographs (S1), (S2) and (S3). This mound is located at TG 4913 0810. It is sub oval in plan and measures up to 18m by 11m in plan. A 2.5m wide ditch is present around its north and east sides. It is located in the marshland 400m to the north of Breydon Water and is likely to be of medieval date. The field containing this mound had been ploughed by 1980 and the earthworks levelled (S3).
J. Albone (NMP), 22 November 2005.
